Tips
If you think you have erectile dysfunction, there are certain ways you can improve this condition. Usually the following lifestyle modifications provide a very good benefit in treating ED:
- managing weight
- stop smoking
- do not abuse alcohol
- do not use street drugs
- follow exercise regimen
Some men have reported ED due to excessive cycling. It is recommended to take some time off without riding a bike to see if this activity affects your sexual potency.
ED medications
The most common type of ED treatment are medications that make part of a drug class called PDE-5 inhibitors. They all work by stimulating blood circulation in the penile area, improving the quality of erections.
The most well known PDE-5 inhibitors are Viagra, Cialis and Levitra. Viagra and Levitra usually work for about four hours and should be taken an hour in advance before having sexual intercourse. Cialis works for up to 36 hours in some cases and usually takes about 30 minutes to start giving effect.
